Cruise to Malaysia Chapter 3: Stopover at Penang
18 December 2017
Today’s stopover at Penang was not to be missed. I was just in Penang 2 years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the short trip. How can we forget the glorious choices of food and the instagrammable UNESCO Heritage sites. We were told that the ship will be at the dock till 6pm so we are free to roam around Penang for an entire day.
Subuh prayers on the deck. Love doing prayers under the sky and definitely love it that we are doing it together as a jemaah. Today we faced a different part of the ship due to the changing course. Tazkirah by Ustaz Zahid Zin.
Ok I missed the workout yesterday so I decided to participate in today’s morning workout! I miss doing workout!
It was not too intense and manageable!
Thank you le hubby for taking photos and waiting for me.
Took a short stroll at the top deck and admiring the beautiful morning view. We are here in Penang!
After the short stroll, we went back to our rooms and got ourselves ready to go out. Excited to leave the ship, I was feeling the ‘freedom’ lol.
The view of freedom haha. No plans whatsoever but let’s go!
We managed to find a taxi driver who was willing to give us a tour around the city for half the day. He recommended a trip to the new Magic World museum. It was not here 2 years ago when we were here so we decided to give it a shot.
Love that there were staff everywhere to assist us in photo taking. They even had an ice castle and considering the weather outside was sooooo hot, it was exciting to go into a cold place.
I even met a friend on the cruise ship and now again in the Magic World Museum lol.
But first, a quick lunch with kampung dishes tasted so yummy. It is probably because we have been eating italian food day and night on the ship lol.
Our next stop was none other than Chew Jetty. We were here 2 years ago but this was le hubby’s first time here so I wanted to bring him around.
Apart from getting cheap souvenirs, this is a wonderful place to stop for dessert! Chendol on this hot weather!
It is a must stopover if you are here!
Next, I requested that the driver bring us somewhere we can see the view of the floating mosque. We did not get the chance to visit the floating mosque 2 years ago.
And he did! It was a good spot because we could see the entire coastline and mosque!
We still had plenty of time so we decided to visit the nearby mall to chill and rest. Our driver brought us to the biggest and newest mall but we were too tired to walk around. We simply chilled at Jco while enjoying the wifi since we have been wifi-less for 2 days.
It was time to board! Penang we had such a great time!!
One last goodbye as we board the ship.
The night view before we departed.
I love how they tell us to come back 2 hours earlier in case anyone was late. Even so, there were still people who only came back at 8.15 pm when the ship was suppose to sail by 8.30 pm! Gosh….can people be more responsible. The management was nice enough not to just leave them behind.
Anyway, tomorrow’s stopover will be at Langkawi!
