48 hours in Bangkok: Food marathon!
Travelogue: 13 August 2015
We woke up to this view!
As usual I was not able to go back to sleep after Subuh whenever I travel so I got up and got ready instead. By 9 am we were ready so we decided to head out early. I love the location of our hotel because it was only 5 minutes away from the train station ‘National Stadium’.
This train line goes straight to Siam Paragon, Central World and it was only a 10 minutes walk to MBK. It was really convenient.
Bon brought us to Rocket Coffeebar for breakfast. I am loving all our drinks!
Trust me, a leisurely breakfast is rare in my profession so I am really grateful for this.
This place seems to be popular because there were so many people waiting to be seated even though we were early.
Our food were light simply because Bon did not want us to eat to our filling because she has plans to bring us to all the different food places in Bangkok. Lol. This was my breakfast, it may not look pretty but I am a fan of scrambled eggs and the dice potato was crunchy and yummy.
We could not stay too long in the cafe because there were people waiting to be seated and we did not want to be rude. Bon suggested we go for dessert and she brought us to Paris Mikki. We were too early and there were no cakes on the counter too so we ended up chit chatting while waiting for the cakes to arrive.
When the pretty cakes arrived, we were too excited that we kept starring at the staffs working. I am sure they were all freaked out by us lol. Wow look how pretty the cakes are. There were too many to choose from and since we were full, we decided to order only 2 cakes.
These were soooooooooo good. I have to come back here soon lol.
After our agenda of the day, we were hungry and so we were back at Laem Choroen in the evening for dinner.
Fresh oysters!! Yumsss.
The usual. I know we always order the same food but we are rarely here in Bangkok so …..
Any more room for dessert? We were at After You cafe, a must stopover when you are in Bangkok. This toast is a must order toast whenever you are in After You.
The new thing on the menu. Actually we wanted to order the milo version but it was sold out by the time we were there. Strawberry cheesecake bingsu like. Unlike bingsu which mainly consists of shaved ice, there were shaved cheese too and that made this dessert so delicious.
Too much eating day but I guess that is what happens when you are in Bangkok for too short time!
I swear my tummy felt like it was going to explode and yet I could continue eating lol. We walked back slowly hoping to burn some food off.
Being jakuns, empty train on the way home.
It was a short and lovely stay!! The bestie is leaving early in the morning and I will be spending the day solo tomorrow! I am excited and also slightly nervous.
Thank you Bon for always being such great host! This is why we keep coming back to Bangkok!
