The beauty of Beauty and the Beast

In February, the bestie bought me 2 tickets to the musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for the show on 4th of April. We were actually contemplating to go to Japan in April on this day so when we had to postpone it, the bestie thought that we should cheer ourselves on this day.

We have been bummed about this the entire week! Imagine 2 emo girls and poor Bon had to tolerate our whining in the group chat the whole week. Lol.

We met earlier for dinner first and we decided to visit Fix again. We were here to celebrate the bestie’s birthday in November and we had such a wonderful experience.

I love their naan sandwiches. Its unique and cannot be found anywhere else. I also love how every sandwich is served with side nachos.

This bumbleberry drink was so delicious and refreshing that I greedily ordered two bottles of it.

It is impossible not to order dessert here! Everything looks so yummylicious. I have been craving for churros for the longest time!

Loveee it! I just wished it was shorter because even though they served 6 sticks, it was really filling. The drumlets were awesome too, I was licking my fingers away. #goodbyeimage

Pecan and chocolate tart…..its so pretty.

I love the atmosphere of Fix. Even though its not air conditioned, it was well ventilated and cooling because its situated right next to the pool. There were so many people swimming that I felt like jumping in too.

Its a great place to simply chill. We spent about 2 hours there.

At 7 pm, we made our way out to Marina Bay Sands. I have always been a big fan of anything Disney but I have never really been to any of Disney’s musical.

The musical was spectacular. I love Belle’s amazing voice. The props, the music, the outfits……..everything was perfect.

The only thing I was skeptical about was on how they 2 main characters fell in love too quickly. In the show, Belle and the beast fell in love when they started to discover their love for books. This, despite the fact that the beast was illiterate. While I love the fact that this story promotes love by not emphasizing on looks, I rarely see this happen in real life. Humans generally like pretty things and all things beautiful. How many of us can truly appreciate someone’s beauty within?

My favourite line in the show:

I also love how Belle had so much passion for reading books. Someone who reads a lot will naturally have a curious mind. Curious on how the rest of the world looks like, feels like and how it works. The desire to explore the rest of the world and appreciate its beauty with our very own eyes. When you have a love for words on pages of books, you will never truly be bored.

Like all the other wondering minds, I too, am always in search of someone who can understand my inner self and appreciate my beauty within. Here in this world, I am the beast so let me know where I can find my beauty?
