Chapter 2: Sleep, eat, relax and chill
13 June 2014
Guess what was the first thing we do when we woke up today? Check the waves!
Luck was not on our side. It was raining early this morning, with thunder so we did not get our hopes up too much.
Fortunately, when it was time for breakfast, the sun was already up. First breakfast here and we saw that there was quite a crowd here. There were no space indoors for us so we decided to dine outside.
Since it was after the rain, the weather was pretty cooling.
Its actually a rare opportunity to dine outside because the weather can be so hot and no one really wants to drown in their own sweat.
Look who dined right next to us!
On normal circumstances I would have ran away but this monitor lizard seemed slow and lazy so I had no worries eating my breakfast in peace. Lol.
We decided to walk around the resort to check out the place. Firstly, let’s go check the waves at the beach.
Not good. Big waves AND high tide.
Looks like we can throw out the plan of possibly travelling back to mainland Krabi.
Since we decided to stay on the island for the day, that gives us plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the scenery.
The scenic view of the sea was actually quite nice but I think none of us can look at the waves the same way again after yesterday’s arrival experience.
I guess we can spend the day lazing around by the beach!
Time to snap snap snap.
Looks like there was a boat coming.
It would be interesting to watch other guests arrive in this same high tide and big waves so we sat at the lounge chairs and watch.
We watched in amusement as the guests had almost the same reaction as us. Ah ok, we were not the only ones.
As we watched further, we realised how amazing the staffs here are. They were ready to carry and push the luggages out of the boat and then through the bridge of terror. Apart from that, they accompanied each guest when they walk through the bridge of terror. Some of the females guests were screaming. Lol.
Imagine doing this a few times a day. Wow. Such a tough job.
After the amusement, we decided to continue to walk around the resort. I am sure this would be an even lovely place if its not for the monsoon season.
Look who is trying to escape!
I kinda love this bridge.
At least it felt secure. Hahaha.
My models for the day.
If you love nature and the beach, I think you will love this place.
We decided to go back to change because we wanted to take a dip in the pool. The weather was cloudy too, perfect for the bestie who was terrified of the sun.
Trying to do a jump shot but I realised we were on a slope and I did not want to risk falling down like humpty dumpty.
A few minutes in the room and we had guests again! This time we had almost 8 of them on our balcony, all fighting over one coconut. Wow.
Time to do nothing.
Love this view, overlooking the ocean from the pool.
The girls found a jacuzzi area!
Wow love that we had the whole area to ourselves, thus all the silly and shameless selfies. Lol.
Time to do nothing again. This time, by the beach.
Its actually so wonderful to sit by the beach, enjoy the breeze and read. I have always wanted to do this and believe it or not, I have never done it in my whole life!
Looking at all the unread books on my bookshelves, I think I have been deprived of reading time lately. Its so difficult because of my schedule and all the extra things that I do takes up all my free time and that leaves me very little time to simply read.
In that few minutes of peace, I managed to finish reading this book and I will write a review about it in my other blog. Its so mind blowing! I was reading this book slowly, with the hopes that the words will remain carved into my heart and the the author’s wise words would remain etched in my mind.
Time for lunch! Bestie’s food looks so good, especially the fries.
Since it was cloudy we could have our lunch outside again! Yay! By the windy beach and fresh air!
We took our time to walk back to our room to shower, changed and rest. I even managed to take a nap, on normal days, I have difficulties sleeping in the day.
We wanted to catch the sunset so by 6 pm, we were by the beach again.
Unfortunately, the sky was too cloudy and so we could not view any sunset. This was what happened as it gets darker….
The sky changed its colours and we were left disappointed. After much discussion, we decided to cut our stay here short and transfer to a resort in mainland Krabi tomorrow. That makes tonight our last night here in Centara Beach Resort.
Healthy dinner since I felt that since I have done nothing much today, I did not need carbohydrates to fuel me too much. Salmon salad was yummy!
Time to go back and rest like thats all we have been doing the whole day. Since we are heading back tomorrow, we are hoping for low tide and smaller waves!
I never thought I would make this kind of wish in my life. Lol.
