Chapter 1: Arrival at Putrajaya and KL

9 June 2012

Of all the places in the world, I would never choose Kuala Lumpur as a place to go for a vacation. Being the capital city of Malaysia, its a bustling city and is of too much similarities to my own city country. If I want to go for a vacation, I would choose to go somewhere different.

However, the decision to go to KL and Cameron Highlands was last minute. After failing to book for a holiday package in Koh Samui because I was too late, this was the next best option. Lesson learnt, plan your vacations early! Especially if you cannot afford to go for vacations at any time you like. I can only go for vacations in June and December due to my job.

The bus departed from Singapore at 11 pm. We would be spending the night in the bus. Not my favourite thing, but I cannot afford to be whiny about it. Right before Subuh, we were at Putrajaya, just right outside KL, nearer to Selangor. Unlike KL, its so much cleaner.

We are here at Putrajaya Mosque for Subuh prayers. This mosque is huge! We had difficulties locating the toilets!

Anyway since the mosque is so beautiful, we decided to take some shots of it. This robe that I am wearing, is for female guests entering the mosque especially if they are not wearing the hijab. Perhaps I was wearing pants, the security requested that I wear this robe too, much to my dismay.

Front shot of it. It was still dark when we were done. I think we left at about 6.30 am after washing up and doing our prayers.

We stopped again in a few minutes for photo taking at the Putrajaya bridge. I never noticed this bridge before but then again I have not been here at Putrajaya in about 10 years.

Fresh air in the morning with great view!

Can you see the beautiful view behind Mum and my auntie?

I am not sure if its the cooling weather or, whether its the early morning fresh air, it was a lovely experience simply standing here at the bridge and admiring the view.

Everyone obediently listen to my instructions as to where to stand. Haha. Look how nice this photo is. 😀

Baba and Mama were reminded of the younger days. Lol.

This is what my Dad called a 60s thinking pose. HAHAHA.

We spent the day shopping at Jalan Masjid India. Did not take any photos because it was hot and crowded but who doesn’t love shopping? Jalan Masjid India is a must stopover if you are in KL. The road is lined with street stalls selling everything you need. Everything is really cheap too and yes, you can bargain your way here..

Just a tip. Watch out for your belongings. This place can be littered with pickpockets so its best to be careful.

Finally checked into the hotel at 4 pm. Rested for a while before going out for dinner. Fried kway teow is a safe food to order because its common in Malaysia and in Singapore.

Its good that the eating places are near our hotel! Gotta pack again tonight as we leave for Cameron Highland in the morning!

Can’t wait!
