Leaving footprints in Korea Day 9 @ Petite France and Everland
22 December 2012
We have 2 destinations for today but they are a little out of the city. After a quick breakfast at our guest house, we set out on a long train ride.
Finally arrived at Gyeongpeong Station.
Waiting for the bus to Petite France. The weather was extremely cold so standing for a few minutes at the bus stop was enough to freeze me. My 2 travel mates still looking cool but spot Rachel’s red nose..lol.
We passed by this beautiful lake on our way there and I was truly captivated by how beautiful it was.
The lake was half frozen….I am truly amazed to be seeing this beautiful creation by Almighty.
We are finally here!!
Started walking and this was the first view we saw.
My favourite photo. Even the clouds seem to be properly aligned with only snippets of sunlight passing through.
I had to take with this background!
Saw something unique!
The village was covered in snow and its so beautiful.
The thing about Petite France is that the place is extremely colourful with cutesy stuffs all over that you will find it resist to take photos with everything cutesy there.
Despite the cold, one could still feel the warmth of this place via the building’s warm colours.
The star! Little Prince!
I am so brave as to dig the dragon’s nose.
This seat is saved for ……………………………
The bestie and me on a swing! Hahaha…we didn’t get to do this when we were much younger.
I personally love playing on the swing. I remember playing on the swing all the time when I was a kid. It was actually nice to just sit there on the swing and enjoy the view. This was our pretty view.
Frozen fountain! Standing on it and hoping it does not give way to my heavy weight.
Sitting on a chair thats too small… 😛
We have arrived at the traditional french house!
All the rooms were filled with antiques and I love how it was authentically decorated.
I hope my Mum does not think this is a good idea. I really think plates are for eating, not for decorating the walls :p
I really think I am born to play the piano. I think its a hidden talent still waiting to be discovered. Hahaha.
Shocked myself in the mirror.
Actually I would have preferred sitting in the cart and the bestie pushing me.
The theatre area! But there were no shows for us to watch.
So we had our own show.
With the main statue of Little Prince!
It was also a house of dolls.
Hey! My knight in shining armour! His pants were loose so I was merely helping him.
Did not manage to go Paris so this will do. Hahaha…doesn’t it look real?
I thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the village!
I am sure this place is just as gorgeous in summer with all the flowers! Throughout the entire time, there was a music playing in the background. I learnt that it was one of the theme songs of a popular korean drama that was filmed here. The song was really nice, I shall go and check out the drama and the song when I get home.
Our second stopover was Everland!
Actually it was further than we thought, even after arriving at the bus station, we still had to take another bus to Everland. The journey seemed really long, about 1.5 hours out of the city. My head was thinking, how are we going to get back after this? Lol.
We only had 3 hours there as we arrived around 7 pm. The place was much bigger than anticipated so we took this cable ride first.
A parade! It was super cold, I thought that it was way colder tonight than any other night before this!
So in love with these cute mufflers but I thought there was no point buying them since its of no use back home.
The fireworks was amazing! We had to stand in the cold to watch this and we saw so many little kids all covered up watching the show too!
This place is so beautifully decorated with Christmas lights but my camera sucked at night mode. I had to rely on the bestie’s camera.
The lights were really so pretty and it looked almost magical. Our photos really do not do it justice.
Cute uniform and we seriously did not know how the ladies who works here can stand outdoor for so long in this cold!
We truly had a wonderful time despite being really cold. I am guessing the temperature was below -10 degrees? I really thought my limbs were all going to be frozen.
Of course we had to hurry and ran after the bus, if we miss the last bus, we would be stranded there with no way to get back to the city! There were no cabs around! Everland was really in the middle of nowhere.
Thank God we didn’t miss it! Day 10 tomorrow!
Is the piano operational?
Yes it is!
