Leaving footprints in Korea Day 5 @ Sokcho
18 December 2012
It was time to leave our guest house today. Actually its been quite a pleasant stay here for the past 3 nights, except we are not liking the fact that there were no lift. This meant that we had to literally drag / carry our luggage up and today we are to drag / carry it down. Oh man. My luggage weighs 15 kg while bestie’s luggage weighs 20 kg. Good luck to her.
We just realised we have not taken any photos in the guest house.
Even before we start carrying our luggages down, the bestie already felt tired. Haha.
Thankfully it was easy to get a cab to the bus station. After 3 hours of bus journey, we finally arrived at Sokcho! Our stay for the next 3 nights! Kensington Hotel.
Love the big room and love the big beds!
But most of all, we love the view from our balcony!
The view of the mountains covered in snow was too beautiful and we can see it clearly from our room!
The hotel was chosen mainly because its the nearest hotel to Soraksan National Park, which was going to be our stopover for the next day. Its got a unique ‘english’ themed decor and for a while, I did feel like royalty being guests there. Haha!
Since we were near to the mountains, we were very far away from town, there were no shops nearby and this were all the food we had 😛
Oh well, time to venture out to look for food. It was almost 4.00 pm and we were starving. Enjoying the view while walking out!
Thankfully the bus stop was not too far and we were told that the bus will come every 15 minutes! Wow! Much faster than the bus at my house!!
View from the bus stop! We can see our entire hotel from our bus stop.
Love this view! I love nature so I cannot wait for the hike tomorrow!
Dinner finally!! There was a salad bar along with the pizza we ordered! Nom nom nom…. for the very hungry me.
The seafood pizza was good! Unfortunately I was too full from gorging myself with the salad that I could not finish the pizza. Packed them back to our hotel room in case we get hungry.
The journey back from town to our hotel was about 30 minutes because the driver drive really fast. It was not crowded at all so I am amazed the bus still comes by every 15 minutes.
Good night! I was already in bed while bestie was playing with candles on the cold balcony. A little crazy because it was so freezing cold outside. I believe the temperature is about -4 degrees.
