Day 9: The day we were transported back in time
19 June 2013
Today we travel out of Seoul to visit the Korean Folk Village. It was a long journey there! The tour bus was scheduled to leave at a standard time and we were really running late.
The rest of the gang were already there and yes, we did miss the shuttle bus. We had to take the public bus. The bus ride took us 1 hour.
We are finally here and this giant poster of the Korean Drama ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ welcomed us!
I have yet to watch this but I have the dvd at home. Ok, if you are a korean drama fan, you have to enter this shop! They sell all the merchandise and famous toys / items from famous Korean Dramas.
Items from Secret Garden! Sooo cute!!
They even had an area for us to take photos with the ‘props’.
The entrance. This place was larger than I expected it to be.
A example of a peasant house. I was fascinated with all the woods.
Kitchen! So ancient. Wonder how long it will take to cook with this.
Ashery and where they keep the hay.
Still playing around in the kitchen.
We were really having too much fun pretending to cook. Lol.
Next! Middle Class Farmer’s House!
Actually it was almost the same as the peasant’s house but it was more spacious.
Next stop! Market!
Would you like to buy my cooking?
Can’t help posing with these lol.
Rachael decided to try out horse riding. I was interested too but I was pretty worried that I would be too heavy for the poor horse lol.
This white horse was so obedient. It didn’t move at all even when I was stroking its hair.
Wish I can bring it home!!
Group picture. There was a group of guys in white and blue (like the one this pic) walking over and we asked for their help to take our photo. We did not want to take photo WITH them lol.
Awkward moment when we do not really what to do when he just stood there to wait for us to take photo with him. Lol.
So when we went off, we took another one without him! Hahaha!
Spotted pony! It looked so dirty though. Wish I can bath it… I have always wanted to bath animals.
Omg! This is where they filmed Rooftop Prince!! Crazy fangirl alert mode.
I waited for the people behind me to move off, but they didn’t so …..
Pure spring water. It was really cold and nice!!
A stream. So calming.
We wanted to walk in further but the area was blocked because there was filming going on!
Just some men on horses, we couldn’t spot anyone famous lol.
Finally! At where all korean drama fans can relate!
As you can see, I am a fan of Jaejoong and Yoochun.
The bestie never watch these shows, why she wanted to pose here, I will never know.
Time for lunch! This was really healthy. I think I would really lose weight if I stay here longer.
A well! I wanted to lift the lid up but it was too heavy :p
Another area that was used for filming but none of us were familiar with the drama.
They even had hanboks there for people to pose for photos. Coincidentally there was no one there so……….
I love how we look so colourful!
I think we looked good! We should consider wearing this to work back in Singapore.
Group photo! I think we did well in trying to hide Sean’s legs. Lol.
Sean had to stand behind because he was only wearing the robe so his legs were kinda exposed. Lol.
Multiple shots! No one was around to see this madness!
Time to start walking back. Crossing bridges across rivers….
Trying very hard to resist jumping into the water.
Malay dance by the river with the fan.
Check out this hut by the river. So cute!
Beautiful! I love nature. Its such a contrast from where we came from.
Love this view!
My favourite shot of the day with the gang.
The twins were going back to Seoul while our next stop was Everland!
This place looks different in summer! The last time we were here was winter and it has christmas decorations all over the place.
Heading to Zootopia first to see my animal friends! Yay!!
Here they are! I was pretty sure the polar bear and the penguins were suffering in this heat!
Monkey and turtle!! I like both very much! Private joke only le bestie will understand. Lol.
The bestie also loves the monkey very much. Whyyyyy.
This monkey was so smart. It was just waiting for humans to come and feed it and when the visitor threw nuts in, it will take it quickly so that the other monkeys will not have a chance. Once it was done, it would knock on the glass asking for more.
So smart!!
This one kept staring at me so I decided to take a photo with it.
Squirrel so cute!!!
Pretty and colourful flowers! Wow!
The place was littered with flowers everywhere! There was a nice scent in the air too.
It was a great place for photo taking!
The fountain was cooling!
Amidst the beautiful garden, poor bestie was almost eaten by a shark.
Mandatory crazy photo taking with the girls.
At the rose garden! The whole place smelled really nice and flowery.
Actually couples were suppose to be posing here but we didn’t really care.
Such beautiful place. All the colourful flowers really put you in a better mood.
We are back at the farm animals area. Ducks!!
Lambs!!
This lamb let me touch its head! Sooo sweet!
Time for rides. We were not too ambitious with the rides as we are not THAT young. Haha. This boat ride was pretty fun and wet!
The rotating house really made me scream my heads off! Haha…
It was a big place. We had to get on the luge to go further up.
Dinner after a long day.
It was a long day and I really had so much fun. Actually I think the girls and me all wanted to walk on more but we were tired after all the walking.
Day 10 tomorrow!
