Chapter 14: Dessert hunting in Paris
24 December 2013
So our hotel was pretty near the park so we took some time to take a walk in the park in the morning. This park, Jardin des Tuileries, was nicely located near the Lourve.
Bare and dried. I am sure the park will look so much better in other seasons but since I am in love with dried trees, I was just as excited.
It has a calming effect on me.
Spotted the pond! There were swans, ducks and sea gulls in it!
However, they were not as friendly as the ones in Switzerland. They were more interested in resting on statues. 😛
Check out these huge trees! One bare and dried and the other one filled with leafy greens!
Its weird, because they are next to each other. They should get the same amount of sun and rain. That’s me in the middle. See how huge the trees were?
The sky was dark, it looked like it might rain.
So each of the statues there represents a Greek God and I am sure someone who knows the history would be able to appreciate the different statues standing there.
I was really hoping it would not rain because we were outdoors.
Spot The Louvre museum!
Here at the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel aka a very huge arc.
Photo time!
This museum is so huge. We do not have such rich history to have a museum like this.
Taking photos at the iconic ‘pyramid’ before it rains.
The long queue to enter the museum. Seriously, this museum puts all the museums in Singapore to shame. Lol.
Beautiful fountain. It was actually hard to take these pictures because there were constantly people taking photos and posing for photos here.
A sneak peak into the museum. We decided not to enter the museum since we are not really interested in the history. All of us, except for AK.
Instead, we went to hunt for desserts at Pierre Herme. Lol. Thanks to Bon who brought with her the list of top bakeries and cafes to check out in Paris.
So many to choose from.
They did not have any seats so we had to packed it away. Stop over for drinks at this restaurant and secretly eat our desserts there instead.
Thank God the hot chocolate was not too thick!
Here again with the bookworms!
Except for Bon and myself, the 3 bookworms bought books! Actually I do not understand why the bestie was still buying books when we were JUST here yesterday. 😛
We had lunch and a nearby restaurant and then went back to the hotel. It was time to leave. I will miss the bed here. Its so comfy and I can sleep all day.
Saying goodbye to Giulia and AK! Thanks to AK for the arrangements for the hotels! I really love the beds.
Goodbye Paris, you have been lovely.
On the train again for the last time on this trip. Check out the really huge croissant that the lady at the counter refused to heat up for us. I really do not understand why they eat their food cold.
And so Bon and me were whining about this.
We finally arrived in Zurich at night.
Here at Marriot for the next 2 nights before leaving Europe. Our trip is almost coming to and end.
Savouring every moment left here.
