Chapter 5: Forza Milan!
15 December 2013
Of all the trips that we have made together, the bestie forgot to bring the most important thing on this trip. Iron! I was also so busy that I forgot to remind her. Today is the fifth day of this trip and I really do not know how we are going to survive another 10 days without the iron. The hotels that we stayed in do not allow us to iron in our rooms too. According to them, its for our safety.
As if we are going to burn down the entire hotel with the iron.
So when I woke up this morning, I saw this.
At first I was wondering why do we have a new tablecloth but on closer look, it was actually the bestie’s tudung! Wahahahaha! I needed to take photo of it quickly before she comes out of the bathroom. Lol.
Creative but desperate measure. HAHA.
Waited for Bon and Ak in the lobby and here is Bon photobombing us.
We went back to Duomo because we did not really have the time to go inside it yesterday. Since it was early in the morning, it was not as crowded as last night.
Duomo of Milan. It only opened at 10 am so we had to wait, we heard about the magnificent view of the city from the rooftop so we were looking forward to going up there.
So many rules before entering it, including no photography. The door is filled with carvings of people, and it was a little scary to me.
Eventually we were not allowed to go to the rooftop. It was close because there were ice and they do not know whether or not it will be open.
Disappointed.
We waited around for a while, hoping that the ice will melt away and disappear but it did not happen. So we decided to make our way to San Siro Stadium.
I was actually thinking of going with AK instead of the stadium with the two girls but in the end I decided to go with the girls. This is the soccer team that the bestie has been crazy about, how can I not witness the glory of the stadium? Lol.
Furthermore, I was told that we will have a tour inside the stadium and the locker room so when else can I enter boys’ locker room right?
Pretty trees spotted on the way to San Siro Stadium.
We are here!
The girls are excited and I was also excited to be in a stadium. When was the last time I went to a stadium? I cannot even remember.
Wow I have never been inside a stadium that was only meant for soccer. It was so huge. It could fill 90k people. Woah.
Even though I was not a Milan or a soccer fan, I was also excited, not sure why. The girls’ enthusiasm must have infected me somehow. Lol.
Because the club is so famous, they also had a museum!
There were so many people from all over the world who came to visit. I wanted to take photos with the statues of famous players too.
Famous players whom I have read in the bestie’s tweets for years but have no idea who. Lol.
Time to enter the locker room. Wah, so exciting!
The players had their own chair and they even had their own screen on top of their chair. Wow.
The girls took a lot more photos than me of course but even though I was not a fan, I was impressed with the club’s success throughout the years.
I really applaud the passion of the fans, they are not only from Milan, they are from all over the world!
Before we know it, it was time to head back to the hotel. The bed in this hotel is the best! I really had a good sleep and that is really rare for me. Lol.
Going to hop into the train to head to Switzerland!
Love the train ride, by the time we arrived in Luzern, it was already dark. The sunset was at 4.30 pm so the day feels short.
We walked around to look for a nice place to eat. The atmosphere in Luzern is somehow very different from Europe. I am not sure what it is. I feel safer, as compared to in Europe where I had to be on alert mode all the time and take care of my belongings.
From the walk, Luzern was beautiful, even at night, I cannot wait to explore it in the day.
Giant sandwiches for dinner.
Drinking cold drink for the first time in winter because I was super thirsty.
Can’t wait to get to know Switzerland tomorrow.
