Umrah Day 10: Floating Mosque of Jeddah
Without realising, today is our 10th day here. I really wish we can stay longer but I have no more leave to use. I need to come back here during school holidays in the future. We are heading home today and since the journey back is a long one, we had to set out early.
Breakfast. Mandatory caffeine intake to help keep my brain awake.
The bread here is really delicious. I cannot resist filling up my plate with it. I will miss the breakfast luxury breakfast here.
While we waited for the bust to arrive, we did some last mini cleaning and packing. Packing is not my favourite thing to do, I REALLY dread it to bits. The bus was running late so we were told to stay in our rooms until they call us.
The bus was 1 hour late and they needed time to load the luggages into the bus too.
So we were 1.5 hours behind schedule. The bus was supposed to leave at 8 am since it was a 6 hours bus ride to Jeddah Airport. We had to be at the airport early to check in the luggages. Pardon me for being paranoid because I do not want to miss my flight home ever.
We finally set off at about 9.30 am.
Stopped by Al Rahma Mosque for Zohor prayers also known as the floating mosque of Jeddah.
The mosque is placed just next to the Red Sea which gives the impression that the mosque is floating in water. I was excited to see the sea!
The ladies did their prayers outside. As you can see it was very windy. Such a lovely place to do prayers outside in the open.
Look at how clear the water was! I could see fishes swimming in the clear waters.
Such a beautiful mosque in the most perfect setting. Wish we had a mosque by the sea in our country.
This short red bridge was the perfect place to pose for photos.
My solo shot with the floating mosque at the back. I am loving the wind even though my tudung is in a mess because of it. Lol.
Quick shot together before boarding the bus. Too bad we were in rush so we could not stay longer. It would be nice to take a walk and explore along this cost.
Barely 2 hours later, we arrived at Jeddah Airport. The weather was so hot and I was not feeling that good.
It turned out that I was down with fever. No wonder I was feeling cold and was sneezing profusely.
Oh well, at least we are heading home. 9 hours flight home. Waiting to board the plane.
We finally board the plane at about 9 pm. It was cold when we had to take the bus from the airport to the plane. Funny how the weather was so hot in the day and so cold in the night.
Will be home in 12 hours!
